The Project “Ria Kisser”

The first single “The Sun Is Getting Colourblind” marks the beginning of the Alternative Rock music project, launching in February 2025.
Originally conceived as a solo act in Berlin, it has since evolved into a full band featuring drums, bass, guitar (acoustic and electric), and saxophone. Following her recent release — a remix with producer Cay Taylan — the next single will lead into a full EP, scheduled for release in November during the global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”

Motivation

Songwriting began as a personal outlet — a way to process complex emotions early on in life. Over time, it became more than that: a way to bring difficult truths to light, to create visibility for hidden realities, and to open up spaces for conversation, reflection, and collective imagination.

Shaped by her background in activism and social work, Ria’s songs are driven by a clear perspective and emotional honesty. At the same time, she strives for musical depth and cohesion, always aiming to create a sound that’s both thoughtful and immersive.

About Ria

She's a veracious, a bit chaotic and whole-hearted musician, composer, singer. A voice that might touch your soul with a combination of powerful, raw sounds and sensitive tones. Ria is willing to make space for the unsaid and communicate through her music - to inflame new thoughts with an activist approach, discuss social injustice. Her music has touches of the 80s and 90s, moved with the times. A mixture of Alternative Rock and Indie,  but also folky sounds might reach your ear. While her lyrics usually involve a good portion of critical views towards societal norms she wants to stay curious - also within music.

IRA

Wenn ein Vogel stirbt

Fällt es vom Himmel

So geht man in der Welt verloren

Das Metall vergoren

Gib Silber den Novemberbleichen

Wein den Verblassten

Im Sekundenschlaf der Welt

In den verlorenen Stunden ihres Schlafes

Nachts hört man es

Den Schrei, den die Welt macht,

wenn ein Vogel stirbt

die Erde klirrt

und zerbröselt zu Staub

den sie aufhebt und behutsam

auf ihre Narben reibt

damit sie verschwinden

IRA IRA

Schreie es hinaus

Bevor der nächste Vogel stirbt

IRA IRA

Schreie es hinaus

Bevor der letzte Vogel stirbt
